Learning & Development at CAVDAS

Learning & Development at CAVDAS

At CAVDAS, learning and development is a key part of what we do. Our approach is grounded in harm reduction which underpins all of our training, ensuring staff understand how to reduce risk, respond effectively to people who use substances, and promote safer, more informed decision-making. As a large and varied service, we support staff across multiple roles to develop the skills, knowledge and confidence they need, not just for their current roles, but for their ongoing professional growth.

This work is supported by a dedicated Learning & Development Team, with volunteering now also forming part of this strand, creating further opportunities for people to build experience, skills and confidence within the service.

We also work beyond our service, delivering specialist training to partners across housing, health, education and criminal justice.

We work directly with services, universities, schools & more to understand their needs and deliver bespoke sessions on-site or at one of our bases. We offer a programme of training opportunities throughout the year, shared via flyers and training calendars.

Our dedicated Volunteer Co-ordinator organises placements across service, offering a range of developmental roles to help individuals build skills, experience and confidence.

Get In Touch

We’re still building and shaping our training offer, so we really value services getting in touch for guidance around substance use and potential training opportunities. These conversations help us continue developing training that is relevant, practical, and responsive to the needs of the Cardiff & Vale workforce.

If you’re interested in being added to our mailing list to receive regular updates and our refreshed external training calendars, you can contact our team at training@cavdas.com.
