We support people to minimise the risks
If you don’t want to stop using drugs and alcohol, there are various ways we can help you reduce the risks.
See the drop-down information below or get in touch
If you don’t want to stop injecting drugs, you can still reduce your risks when you do by always using sterile equipment.
We provide sterile needles, syringes and all the equipment required for safer injecting. We also encourage you to return equipment for safe disposal at the below sites.
Find your nearest needle exchange here. (need)
We provide Naloxone, which rapidly reverses a heroin or other opiate overdose. It can quickly bring someone’s breathing back to normal when it has slowed or stopped because of an opioid, such as certain prescription medication or heroin.
Our team of Harm Reduction Peers are very active around Cardiff city centre. Keep an eye out for the ‘Ask me about Naloxone’ logos and anyone can stop our peers to talk about Naloxone and receive a free kit.
We also provide free training on how to administer Naloxone.
We provide a simple test for Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and HIV and, whatever the outcome, can support you through the process and advise you on any next steps.
How we can help
We support people to minimise the risks they take when using drugs or alcohol; enable those who want to move or continue to stay away from their use; and educate around drug and alcohol use. We have teams of professionals with particular specialisms and peers whose experience of drug and alcohol use makes them very well-placed to provide support.
