Peer Recovery and Aftercare Worker

Peer Recovery and Aftercare Worker

This role sits within the CAVDAS Peer Recovery Team and provides peer-led recovery and aftercare support to people seeking to make and sustain changes to their alcohol and/or drug use. Working as part of a team of recovery and aftercare workers, the post delivers 1:1 peer support, groupwork, and the community rehabilitation programme, and contributes to the running of the open access recovery centre, available seven days per week. Support is offered in person, online, and by phone or text, helping people at all stages of change to build recovery capital, develop community connections, and move on from formal treatment in a planned and supported way. The role is grounded in the C.H.I.M.E. peer support model and is not a counselling or treatment position, instead focusing on lived experience, non-judgemental support, and long-term engagement with the wider recovery community.
